Beltane / May Day Celebration - CANCELLED

Join us at Dalton Moor Farm to celebrate the joyous occasion of Beltane, nowadays called May Day.

This is one of the most important Sabbats in the Wheel of the Year, as it is all about the rebirth and fertility of the land and all creatures. A super time for weddings and unions.

Our celebration begins at 3pm with a welcome, and introduction to Beltane.

This will include stories, poems, and perhaps some songs about the festival.

Then we will craft crowns for the May Queens and Green Men, using Willow, Flowers and Greenery.

Wearing our crowns, we will take some long ribbons and some more flowers, to dress the Maypole, then we will dance around the Maypole, winding the ribbons together around it.

After the exertions of sll the dancing we will return to the sacred circle to share food and drinks, relax a while, and enjoy conversation with our new found friends.

Once replete we will light the Beltane fire, and hold our Drum Circle around the fire.

To conclude our celebration we will take part in a procession around the meadows and hedgerows, bestowing upon them good fortune and fertility for the season of growth and renewal, finishing at the farm yard car park, around 7 pm, to say farewell.
